Breast Lifting: Everything you need to know

A woman’s body goes through many changes throughout her lifetime, especially during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Breasts can lose their youthful perkiness and even start to sag on the chest. These changes are not only reserved for women with large, heavy breasts; small chested women can also experience deflated breasts or a downward droop.

A radiofrequency-assisted breast lift is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment to enhance the appearance of the breasts. In contrast to surgical procedure or breast augmentation or breast lift, this type of procedure does not require any incision or medication.

You might consider a breast lift if:

  • Your breasts sag : they’ve lost shape and volume, or they’ve gotten flatter and longer
  • Your nipples fall below your breast creases when your breasts are unsupported
  • Your nipples and areolae point downward
  • Your areolae have stretched out of proportion to your breasts
  • One of your breasts falls lower than the other

Radiofrequency (RF) energy is a new and promising technology for non-surgical, painless tightening of the early signs of loose or sagging skin. Radiofrequency has the capacity to produce heat to induce new collagen and elastin production and encourage cell turnover, helping skin become firmer, thicker and more youthful-looking.

How does Radiofrequency-Assisted Breast Lift work ?

Radiofrequency (RF) energy heats tissue to stimulate collagen production and encourage skin tightening and firming. The hand piece is slowly rotated over the target area transmitting radio waves through the upper layers of the skin to the dermis, heating the dermis to between 40 & 50 degrees Celsius without burning the skin surface.

  •  Tissue Contraction: The generated heat causes local contraction of the collagen fibres, to immediately tighten the skin.
  • New collagen stimulation: By heating the dermis, new collagen production is stimulated. This tightening effect is Steady and may take from 3-6 months to be visible.
  • Improved blood circulation: RF will also improve the blood and lymphatic flow. This helps with a better oxygen supply and greater toxin clearance to further reduce the effects of aging.

The uplifting effects of Radiofrequency are clearly and immediately visible on the right breast of the client.

What cosmetic concerns does a radiofrequency-assisted breast lift procedure treat?

  1. Remoulding Shape & Size of breast: RF energy alters the appearance of the breasts in two ways by stimulating collagen production and also liquefying fat cells for improvements in breast shape, breast contours, and for body contouring.
  2. Beautification: While an RF breast lift provides a more subtle result than surgery, the procedure can be added onto other breast surgeries as part of a larger makeover.

The results last three to five years. Significant weight loss, weight fluctuations, or pregnancy will affect the results.

What results can you expect after doing RF-Assisted Breast Lift procedure?

The results of a radiofrequency-assisted breast lift procedure will develop over six months after the initial procedure as collagen production increases and takes effect.

An advantage of using Radiofrequency to heat tissues, as opposed to lasers (which use higher-frequency light waves), is that the lower frequency of RF can safely penetrate to a deeper level, helping to improve skin tone and structure, even lifting tissues. Moreover, RF can safely treat more patients with different skin tones without risking permanent discoloration. The end result is that of a lifted, contoured, and voluminous breast, but also one that is less crepe (much more smooth).

Skin is tighter, firmer and lifted with no downtime and pain. In most of the cases visible results are seen immediately, however, it will take 1-2 months to start seeing significant results of the skin lifting effect and the results usually last up to 2-3 years.
